Heidi Shultz (she/her)
As a recent addition to Morris Family Law, Heidi brings with her a comprehensive understanding of social welfare systems, institutions, and the systemic and economic realities that affect individuals in family law matters. Heidi is a Provisional Licensee with the Oregon State Bar, working under the supervision of Founding Partner, Erin K. Morris. Through Oregon’s new Supervised Performance and Portfolio Examination program, she is actively pursuing licensure, representing an alternative path to traditional bar examination. Morris Family Law is proud to be among the first firms in the state participating in this innovative program.
A native Oregonian born in Roseburg, Heidi graduated from Sisters High School, though much of her early childhood was spent in Papua New Guinea. Her upbringing as a third-culture child gave her a deep respect for diverse cultures and perspectives. Upon returning to the U.S. as a teenager, Heidi’s appreciation for different ways of life continued to grow. She has lived, worked, and studied in Portland, Mexico, San Diego, and Peru, embracing the richness of these experiences. Outside the office, Heidi enjoys outdoor adventures with friends and family, listening to music, savoring good food and drink, and exploring both domestic and international travel opportunities.
Before beginning her legal career, Heidi dedicated nearly a decade to her community as a Child Protective Services investigator and social worker. This background sharpened her ability to advocate fiercely for her clients while fostering empathy, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Her extensive experience in the courtroom pre-dates her legal education, having worked closely with multiple court systems, agencies, and community organizations. Heidi frequently appeared in Dependency, Delinquency, and Criminal courts, gaining practical skills that now inform her legal practice.
Heidi holds an undergraduate degree in Sociology from the University of Oregon. After a decade of community service, she earned her Juris Doctor from Willamette University College of Law, where she focused on developing trial skills and gaining hands-on litigation experience. During law school, Heidi held clerkships with the Department of Justice (Child Advocacy Section), the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office (Juvenile Division), and Mercy Corps International.
Following law school, Heidi served as a judicial clerk for the Honorable Kelly Skye at the Multnomah County Circuit Court. There, she deepened her understanding of courtroom dynamics, judicial processes, and litigation strategies—experience that now benefits the clients she serves at Morris Family Law LLC.
Heidi’s unique life experiences and professional background allow her to approach family law cases with insight, compassion, and dedication. Her journey reflects her passion for advocacy and her commitment to guiding clients through some of life’s most challenging transitions.
